Privacy
Japan Dining does not require an account and does not sell personal information.
What we collect
- If you send a correction, we keep your message, the email address you give (optional) and your IP address, to reply and to prevent abuse.
- If a restaurant sends us an update, we keep the contact name, email address and phone number given, only to confirm the update with the restaurant.
- To keep the site fast, your browser reports how quickly each page loaded and responded (three numbers, and whether you used a phone or a computer). Nothing that identifies you is sent and no cookie is set.
- Our servers keep standard access logs for security.
- We count visits with Google Analytics: which pages are read, the site you came from, your country and the kind of device, and which links are used (for example, which booking site a reader opens). Outside the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland it sets first-party cookies to tell new and returning visitors apart; in those regions it runs without cookies. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. See Google's privacy policy; you can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
- We use Microsoft Clarity, without cookies, to see where readers click and how far they scroll on each page. It masks what you type and does not link one page to the next; see Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Cloudflare, which delivers the site, counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not identify or follow individual visitors; it reports, in total, which pages are read, how fast they load, the site you came from, your country and the kind of device and browser.
